Dr. Taylor went on to become an associate veterinarian with Vinson's Veterinary Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he practiced until 1996 when he moved to Alexandria, Virginia with his family. From 1996 to 1998 Dr. Taylor practiced at multiple veterinary hospitals throughout northern Virginia during which time he gained insight into veterinary practice management.
In 1998, Dr. Taylor moved to Leesburg, Virginia where he and his wife purchased Animal Emergency Hospital. Dr. Taylor oversaw the development and construction of The LifeCentre from 2006 to 2007. And in 2007, Dr. Taylor assisted with the expansion and relocation of Animal Emergency Hospital, which is now Animal Emergency Critical Care, to The LifeCentre. Dr. Taylor currently functions as the Chief Financial Officer of Animal Emergency Critical Care and is a member of the Board of Directors of The LifeCentre.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and is the Treasurer of the Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society.

Dr. Taylor resides in Purcellville, Virginia with his wife and three cats and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Sara.

His recreational interests include traveling, skiing, photography, and scuba diving.
