Dr. Speas

Dr. Speas attained her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia. Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Colorado State University, subsequently returning to Athens, Georgia for a one-year medical oncology internship. Dr. Speas then moved to Gainesville, Florida, where she completed a three-year residency in medical oncology at the University of Florida. During her residency, she worked with an integrated service, including medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists, to provide multimodal therapy for her patients.

Dr. Speas is delighted to be joining The Oncology Service team at the Leesburg, Virginia location. She has a special clinical interest in the treatment of osteosarcoma, histiocytic sarcoma, and lymphoma. She values the importance of client education and working together to determine the best treatment plan for each individual pet.

Currently residing with Dr. Speas are her two cats, Dexter and Elliot, as well as two dogs, Finnegan and Penny. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, attending concerts and festivals, volunteering with Special Olympics, and improving her ballroom dancing skills.
