A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Brian Sutherland received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh. He completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at Michigan State University, followed by a surgery internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. In 2015, he completed his three-year surgical residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his academic career, his primary research focus was wound healing/biofilm inhibition, as well as kidney transplants. His clinical areas of interest are minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy) and reconstructive surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys Crossfit and spending time outdoors with family and friends. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Kristen, Jack Russell Callie, and cat Gracie.
