Advanced Imaging
Advanced Imaging includes MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging and CT – Computed Tomography – are both non-invasive, extremely accurate diagnositc tools for ill or injured pets.
Since 2004 Bush Advanced Veterinary Imaging has provided onsite advanced imaging technology at veterinary referral centers throughout Virginia, We are dedicated to ensuring that the many benefits of advanced imaging are easily accessible to referred clients and their pets.
At each location, we provide onsite Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Topography (CT) putting the gold standard for diagnostic imaging within easy reach of pet owners and veterinarians throughout the area. These services provide a non-invasive and accurate diagnostic tool that helps localize problems to a body system or body part aiding in the ability to diagnose, treat and evaluate ongoing treatment.
By offering onsite veterinary MRIs and CTs, we provide access to safe and accurate diagnostic imaging that improves the care your patients receive and allow treatment to begin more rapidly.

- An extremely experienced medical team specializing only in imaging. As pet owners, we understand that your pet is a vital part of your life. Our goal is to assist in restoring their health as quickly as possible with accurate diagnostic imaging
- Our close working relationship with Neurologists, Surgeons, Oncologists, Critical Care specialists within The LifeCentre. If your pet is being seen with another partner practice, we’re able to review findings and images directly with your doctor
- Patients are monitored constantly while in our care and under anesthesia by our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians. Our patients wellbeing is our only concern. Every patient is given a full physical exam and recent blood work is also reviewed in preparation for the administration of anesthesia.
- If a surgical procedure is recommended based on the results of the diagnostic imaging, often surgery can be performed the same day without having to go to a second location/surgical center, or have your pet anesthetized a second time
- Guidance in selecting the best test for your pet’s condition. While both MRI and CT can be equally useful for some types of medical concerns, often one test may be preferred over the other.
- A close working relationship with local primary care veterinarians. When your pet is referred for advanced testing, all images are shared with your referring doctor. Together, we will develop a medical care plan for your pet.
- In time sensitive conditions – such as – head trauma, disk disease – MRI is the gold standard in testing. However, if cost or time under anesthesia is a concern a CT may be a better option – Dr. Uzzle and the team with BAVI can guide you and your doctor to select the ‘best test’for your pet
- Both tests may occasionally be recommended, particularly if a disease involves bone and soft tissue – Both be performed at The LifeCentre with the team with Bush Advanced Imaging
