To the Staff at The Life Centre,

I’ve started this letter many times and words always fail me as I try and find a way to express my gratitude for each one of you. Please know that the words below pale in comparison to the sentiment and feeling behind them.

Boomer, our wee little Scottie Lad, is our child. Sean and I decided when we first starting dating that we both were not interested in taking the normal route in life. We opted not to have children but to have furbabies. Boomer is our first son. I tell you this so that you understand how much we adore him and what a significant place he holds in our heart and in our family. On Wednesday, March 1st, we never expected to be patients at TLC. I have never been so thankful to have this facility in our backyard.

Thank you all for being superheroes. Thank you for: standing strong and resilient in the midst of the storm, keeping hope when ours was dwindling, providing cutting edge medical treatment, taking risks, giving Boomer love, feeding him, placing his IVs, cleaning up after him, giving him dignity, taking him on walks and bathroom breaks, for monitoring him through all hours, noticing when he was dour, giving him a reason to wag his tail, searching for and retrieving the hiVIG, answer our frantic phone calls and questions, giving Boomer baths, taking blood, reading platelets, taking him to/from his visits with us, being his family during his stay. The list of things you’ve done for Boomer and for our family is extraordinary- and these are only the items we know of. There are many tasks that were done that we cannot even fathom. Thank you for the seen and unseen acts of heroism.

Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to spend more time with Boomer- and you have provided us that gift. We know we were dancing on a wire and how it could have easily gone the other path-each one of you contributed to our happy ending.

All our love,
Morgan & Sean McLellan
