For over 20 years the healing properties of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy have been recognized in human medicine.  VCA Animal Emergency/Critical Care is proud to be one of the first in the nation to offer patients this additonal advanced health care option.

Our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber (HBOT) has been made exclusively for small animals.    The chamber safely delivers 100% pure oxygen to the body due to the increased atmospheric pressure inside the chamber and pets rest inside the chamber monitored by our trained HBOT team of nurses.

More Information About Hyperbaric Treatments

  • Extremely useful in a variety of clinical situations and used in combination with other modes of therapy.
  • Hyperoxygenation of the tissues enhances the killing of bacteria and is critical in curing deep seated, resistant infections.
  • The HBOT Chamber, built especially for pets, is filled and operated during treatments by our trained HBOT nursing team and patients are observed via cameras at all times
  • In injured tissues, the HBOT vasoconstricts the small vessels decreasing edema and aides healing – particularly in burns or crush injuries.
  • The treatments, that last about an hour or so, are very relaxing to the patients – most fall asleep during their treatment and are quite at ease.
  • Hyperbaric Treatments are covered by most pet insurance companies if the pets’ condition is also covered
  • Our Critical Care Team is happy to provide for information about Hyperbaric Oxygen and how it may benefit your pet or patients
  • A treatment plan will be custom tailored for each patient and condition
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is available 7 days a week
