Medical & Radiation Oncology

  • Medical Oncology – “Chemotherapy” is the use of medicines that are toxic to rapidly growing cancer cells.  Simply put, chemotherapy destroys tumors. Your Oncology Service specialist will determine your pet’s treatment by following a protocol that includes the type and dose of drug, duration of treatment and the possible side effects and the expected results.  Your pet may need one or more cycles of treatment but rest assured that we closely monitor your pet to control any discomfort, and evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.
  • Radiation Oncology – Just as in human medicine, some forms of cancer respond best to radiation therapy.  We offer conventional definitive and palliative radiation therapy as well as Sterotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT).  SRT is used to treat tumors that are difficult to reach surgically and is typically completed in one to four treatments over the course of a week vs. the standard 15-18 treatments over 3 weeks.  SRT is available at The LIFECentre

All partner practices at The Life Center are committed to collaborative, compassionate, and comprehensive care.
